Stirm Wine Calcite 2023

A lovely little blend of Riesling (72%) Chardonnay (12%) and Chenin Blanc (16%) from our friends at Stirm wines, a rugged, dry-farmed, organically managed vineyard along California’s Central Coast.

Honoring their California roots (literally!), Stirm uses historic vessels like redwood fermenters throughout their winemaking, a practice once common in California but now quite rare. 

Named Calcite after the ancient type of limestone unique to the area the grapes are grown and extremely rare to find anywhere else in California. With warm days and cool nights, the wine takes on the flavor of the air and soil. Picked by hand from vines ranging from 25-60 years old, the whole clusters are allowed to macerate for 24 hours, giving it wildness to the pallet.
